Alcohol is more dangerous than cocaine and heroin

In a research says that alcohol was found to result in a more dangerous than the other two types of harmful substances such as heroin or cocaine. This has been published in a journal the Lancet, which said that some drug experts in England who joined the Independent Scientific Committee on Drugs (ISCD) has introduced a new method for measuring the adverse effects of illicit drug use, either for individuals or for wider community.

In a research report conducted by Professor David Nutt from Imperial College London, who analyzed the alcohol deserves to be called the most damaging substances in the world body after taking into account the impact on individuals and society at large. And after alcohol illegal drugs are also most destructive of the body are heroin and cocaine. While Ecstasy itself is ranked eighth in the category of illegal drugs is most harmful to the body.

In the latest method, Professor Nutt used a method called multi criteria decision analysis (MCDA). And the method was made nine criteria of the adverse effects the use of illegal drugs to individuals, and 7 categories are bad for the community. The Potentially devastating effects for individual categories such as: death; poor quality health; mental dysfunction; and friendship damage. While the adverse effects of social categories such as crime, environmental degradation, family conflict and a decrease in community involvement.

While heroin and cocaine has been listed as a substance which is very harmful to the individual, while alcohol, heroin and cocaine are the most harmful substance for a social community. But after deducting its devastating consequences for individuals and society, alcohol was recorded three times more dangerous than cocaine or tobacco.

World Health Organization (WHO) has considered the risks associated with alcohol use that has caused 2.5 million deaths every year caused by liver heart disease, traffic accidents, suicide and cancer. This figure has been accounted for 3.8 percent of total deaths and ranks third as a trigger of the risk of premature death and disability worldwide.
