Baldness in Young Age Represents Instructions the Prostate Cancer

Men who begin to go bald at age 20-something years, or called typical male baldness (male pattern baldness) will have a two times greater risk of suffering from prostate cancer in the elderly. Thus the conclusion of a study published in the journal Annals of Oncology.

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer among men aged 50 years and over. This cancer often grows silently in the prostate gland without any symptoms until after spread to the bone and surrounding tissue.

Preliminary research suggests that sex hormone androgen which plays an important role in the occurrence of typical male pattern baldness also play a role in prostate cancer. However, the link between the two things is still unclear.

To obtain further evidence, the research team led by Philippe Giraud from Paris to do research by asking 669 men, 338 of them has a history of prostate cancer. All respondents were asked their level of baldness hair at the age of 20, 30 and 40 years.

Men whose hair is still thick at the age of 30 and 40 are known does not indicate an increased risk of prostate cancer compared with their counterparts who begin to experience hair loss at the age of 20. Baldness which occurs earlier also called androgenic alopecia.

Although baldness at a young age can be a marker for the physician to identify risk factors, but prostate cancer can be detected early if the man who began to enter the age of 50 years of screening.

Prostate cancer symptoms are not typical, so often lead to late diagnosis. Symptoms include benign prostate enlargement, as if to urinate, but that came out a bit, as well as similar blood mixed urinary tract infection.
