To identify whether a person suffering from Alzheimer’s long before there were signs of cerebrospinal fluid examination should be combined with brain scan.

Alzheimer’s disease is one the causes of the most causes of dementia or senility, especially in the elderly. In the earlier, no test or a panacea that can cure Alzheimer’s.

The experts have worked hard to be able to determine how to treat and prevent disease or at least to slow the disease. Although there are a number of candidate drugs and vaccines, experts are very difficult to test because Alzheimer’s is generally unknown when the state is advanced.

Dr Jonathan Schott along with colleagues from the Institute of Neurology, University College of London, believes that now they can detect Alzheimer’s at a very early stage or years before symptoms begin to appear. Possible approach is to look at two things, namely reduction in brain and low (below normal), a protein called amyloid is present in the cerebrospinal fluid (cerebrospinal fluid / CSF).

The experts tested at 105 healthy volunteers to undergo the test. The result, as published in the Annals of Neurology, this week, that normal individuals who have low levels of amyloid in the CSF (38 percent) of his brain to shrink two times faster than other groups and those at risk of developing Alzheimer’s.
