Positive Attitude from Parents Can Help Children Learn

positive attitudeEvery parent would want their children to be a star pupil. However, this expectation is not uncommon to make parents always insist their children to continue learning so that children become depressed without realizing it.

A recent study has shown it is very important for parents to have a good attitude and a positive attitude when told their children complete homework.

The researchers said, children will have the motivation to do homework if their parents show a positive attitude, support and emphasize the value of learning, rather than just focusing on the completion of the task or get good grades.

The findings are based on observations by researchers at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Israel, against the 135 fourth-grade children and their parents. Dr. Idit Katz and colleagues report in the journal Learning and Individual Differences says that parents can improve competence by letting the kids do their own job. As well as by giving a signal to children that they are loved and admired, no matter how successful he is in Math or Language. He also added that parents must first understand the motivation, positive attitude, and their competence before attempting to change the habits of children in their homework.

Little formal research has been conducted regarding the influence of home environment when children do homework. The home environment is equally important in providing a positive attitude for school children.
