It’s not difficult to comprehend why Robert Lanza excels in this field. Since he was a child, he was already fond of animals. He was even convinced by his high school teacher to get a degree in Biology as soon as he gets to college because of the potential that was seen in him this field. Aside from that, his educational experience as an undergraduate has often exposed him in various influences from among his professors because of his keen perception and natural brilliance. When he became renowned for his scientific findings, he did not  even stop there but yet pursued other developmental studies that will further enhance his research related to stem biology. The latest of which is their discovery of a safer method in the regeneration of induced pluriponent stem (iPS) cells in which he, along with Kwang-Soo Kim garnered a National Health Institute Director’s Award for it’s contribution to the field of Stem Biology.

Robert Lanza has also published numerous books that provide definitive references in the field of Stem Biology and other resources that is helpful in future studies about the different cell properties. As the Chief Scientific Officer of Advanced Cell Technology, he and his team made a major achievement when they succeeded in having stem cells grow into retinal cells. This could mean as a very big improvement in the field towards the awareness that can applied in clinical blindness. With the use of this technology, it may now be possible to cure blindness that include macular degeneration and Stargardt disease which were once untreatable  eye conditions before this breakthrough.
