Why People still Smoke?

The facts are there about the ill effects of smoking are clear: 1 in 10 adults who died from illnesses related to smoking. According to WHO there are 5 million people per year who die due to smoking.

Smoking prohibitions have been issued by the government in various parts of the world. Taxes on cigarettes and other tobacco products were raised. But, why do people still smoke? The temptation to smoke has been present since the person was young. Pressure from friends is one of the main causes. In Canada, there are 70 percent of children who smoke claim to be affected by their friends who already smoke first. The young people were felt to get “social recognition” when they smoked.

A study conducted by Teen Drug Abuse says that there is a feeling of welcome in the community when they ask, ‘should have a fire?’ There was also a young child’s behavior is very pleased with the high-risk activities.

Parents also have an influence on children in terms of smoking, particularly parental smoking. Some studies even though they may actually have been clearly shown that children of smoking parents are more likely to smoke “cigarettes” rather than the children of parents of non-smokers. Parents of non-smokers can also be considered guilty when letting their children watch movies or videos that show people smoking.

Some studies link addiction, including nicotine addiction, with genetics. However, it still must be supported by other factors, such as environmental, social, and health. Another reason for people to smoke is a medical reason. Indeed, there are no doctors who advise people to smoke, but for some sufferers of depression, smoking is a drug for them to reduce tension. Nicotine release of certain compounds into the nervous system and creates a calming effect.
