Workaholic, Can Hazardous to Your Health

In this issue during your job probably is a certain spirit to achieve success. Both the rising salaries, bonuses, or reach higher career levels. But if you do not regularly work system that often makes you overtime every day and forget to make time to rest, it has made you become a workaholic. At the time of your career success has been achieved, so that often arises is that deteriorating health.
George Griffing, M.D. a professor of internal medicine from Saint Louis University, Philippines, quoted by the Times Of India said many people push themselves to live with an unhealthy pursuit of success.
However, high work pressure and long working hours, can lead one into serious health problems can even shorten life. If you are a crazy lot of work it will be a health hazard to be stalking you. A workaholic not only get physical health problems but also psychological problems.
The following health problems that arise when you become a workaholic:
- Forgot to relax. A workaholic will always get stress due to work in a certain amount is good enough to ‘force’ you to keep working and motivated. However, if left and you forget how to pamper yourself, life will only be covered by stress. Your emotions also become unstable.
- Can’t enjoy food. A workaholic can’t taste delicious food as any you will not be able to enjoy if taken in front of the computer, while a conference call or completing a deadline. People who are workaholics tend to feel ‘wasting time’ if you enjoy eating lunch at a place with no talking or completing the work.
- Sleep minimal. Someone who calls herself a professional, meaning he could distinguish when personal time and when the time for work, including sleep time. Each worker takes time to sleep between eight to nine hours. Lack of sleep makes a person’s emotional instability, lack of concentration, trouble with memory and less likely to make the right decision. Though it was badly needed by a professional.
- Working while sick. Many workaholic still come to work despite being ill. In fact, if viewed from the productivity, the sick person away from productive at work. So, better rest first at home to recover than a messy job because of illness.
- Excessive coffee drinking. People who are workaholics often drink coffee in large quantities. If done continuously risk of heart attacks, gastrointestinal disorders, addiction and even premature aging of the higher.
